But now it seems like Microsoft has learned from their mistake.Microsoft has confirmed the system requirements for the Windows 8 operating system will be the same as those needed to run the current platform,Windows 7. It can also be lower than it.
Current Windows 7 hardware requirements are
- 1GHz microprocessor
- 1GB or 2GB of memory
- DirectX 9-supporting graphics hardware
- up to 20GB of hard disk drives
One of the features that Windows 8 will have is the ability to scale the user experience based upon the available hardware.Users with a high end computer can expect a better experience as the OS will adapt to make the most of that hardware.
"We've also built intelligence into Windows 8 so that it can adapt to the user experience based on the hardware of the user. So,whether you're upgrading an existing PC, or buying a new one,Windows will adapt to make the most of that hardware," said Tami Reller, corporate vice president and chief financial officer of Windows & Windows Live division at Microsoft's worldwide partner conference.
So readers, what is your thinking about Windows 8?
